Scientific Films Integrated into GetInfo
The German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB) is making scientific films from the fields of technology and science available via GetInfo. You can now search for lecture and conference recordings, computer animations, simulations and experiments free-of-charge.
The audiovisual material is displayed in a Flash Player and is available to download.
The search for this audiovisual media is automatically integrated into your search so that you can easily achieve media and cross-data results. In GetInfo, films are linked to other research information such as digital full texts, numerical data and facts, as well as research data. The assignment of a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) ensures clear referencing, too.
With its Competence Centre for Non-Textual Objects, the TIB aims to improve access to, and use of, audiovisual media, 3D objects and research data. In this context, the TIB, together with the Hasso-Plattner Institute for software system technology at Potsdam University (HPI), is developing a web-based platform for audiovisual media.
Do you yourself produce audiovisual media or do you hold such media? If so, the TIB can offer you the option of making media from technology and science lastingly available for education and science nationwide.
You can find further information on the site of Competence Centre for Non-Textual Objects.
