How to use the collection

Where is the East European specialist literature located? 

The East European Collection Reading Room is located on the ground floor of the Grunwald Building, opposite the main library building. The open access shelving holds the most recent five years' worth of issues of approximately 300 of the most important periodical publications from all subject areas, as well as encyclopaedias, bilingual and multilingual dictionaries, handbooks, telephone directories, and other tools.
Shelfmarks of the open access shelving area feature the code "S... / ..." the majority of the collection is stored in the library stock and can be ordered.

How do I find East European literature in the TIB's catalogue?

All titles from Eastern Europe in non-Latin script are recorded under the German bibliographic transliteration of the original title in accordance with RAK-WB (rules of alphabetical catalogization in scientific libraries). In the OPAC, all titles appear without the use of special characters; please remember to take this into account when searching for a title.
