Publisher Agreements

The TIB has a whole range of licences from publishing houses and beyond this is also involved in intensive licence negotiations with further publishing houses in order to extend this range so that extensive electronic delivery will also be possible after the new copyright law has come into force.

According to the licence agreements between the TIB and publishers, document delivery is possible under the following conditions:

  • Depending on the delivery path and delivery country, the TIB has to pay a licence fee (fee depends on the publication) directly to the publisher. This fee will be added to the TIB’s document delivery prices.
  • Electronic delivery must take place via a Digital Rights Management System: DRM. This DRM system (individually) regulates the use of electronically delivered documents.
  • These publishers are waiving DRM protection for electronic deliveries.

When ordering copies we strongly recommend that you find out before ordering whether and to what extent a licence fee for your required document will be charged. Unfortunately, it is not possible to list the price directly next to the catalogue entry at the moment.

The publications which are affected can be found in the following price lists.
